Hello! Welcome to my page! I support actors, singers, public speakers, and leaders in the corporate realm to free, strengthen, and develop their voices free expression and effective communication.

The Alexander Technique was developed by Frederick Matthias Alexander (1869-1955), a Tasmania-born Shakespearean actor who repeatedly lost his voice during performance. After visiting several doctors to little or no avail, he decided to take matters into his own hands. By observing his use of himself in rehearsal, he discovered several habitual patterns that were interfering with his potential as an orator, resulting in the chronic vocal strain. Over time, he learned to inhibit these patterns and redirect his physical energies, thus rehabilitating his voice and preventing further injury. His health and well-being improved to such a degree that he decided to teach others what he’d learned, thus creating The Alexander Technique.

This way of observing and redirecting how we carry out every task in our lives is at the heart of the Technique. By gently interrupting how we engage in even the smallest of tasks, we can unlock our own potential for greater physical ease, mental clarity, relaxation, happiness, and poise.

Linklater Voice Method

The Linklater Method was developed by world-renowned voice teacher and theater artist, Kristin Linklater, author of the classic textbooks, Freeing the Natural Voice: Imagery and Art in the Practice of Voice and Language (1976; revised in 2006) and Freeing Shakespeare’s Voice: The Actor’s Guide to Talking the Text (1992). Through a progression of physical and imaginative exercises, the technique frees the body of inhibitory tensions that block the voice from its fullest expression, and then strengthens and develops the voice throughout its range. Taught in numerous theater and voice departments at colleges around the world — as well as in public speaking courses and various corporate settings —The Linklater Method is a tried-and-true means of cultivating profound vocal expressivity, range, clarity, and eloquence. Though primarily designed to free one’s speaking voice, the exercises also enormously helpful for singing.
